Activities

 
Survey and Utilization Division constituted under the Ministry of Environment & Forests, Government of India governs and executes the following activities concerning forests and other related fields.
 

 Formulation of guidelines and directions for domestic and international trade in forest     produce and regulation of export and import of forest produce as per the Export and Import    (EXIM) Policy.

 Monitoring of physical and financial targets of the forestry schemes of all the Union Territories.

 Overseeing the functioning of all Forest Development Corporations.

 Wood substitution in conformity with the National Forest Policy.

 Follow up action of recommendation of Policy Advisory Group of Fuel Wood conservation.

 Collection and compilation of the forestry statistics based on reports received from various     SFDCs by coordinating with Assistant Director General (Statistics), ICFRE, Dehradun.

 Monitoring the functioning and the financial crisis of all the Forest Development Corporations in     the country.

 All matters relating to Andaman and Nicobar Islands Forest Plantation and Development     Corporation Limited (ANIFPDCL), Port Blair.

 Processing of Standing Finance Committee (SFC)/Expenditure Finance Committee (EFC)     memoranda on forestry schemes administered and implemented by the Union Territories.

 Review of production and disposal of timber in the country.

 Plantation of valuable species like Sandalwood, Red Sanders, Teakwood, etc.

 Establishment of palm oil Plantation & processing mill, Fresh fruit bundles.

 Supply of Raw Materials to Industries.
